Sample Scout Challenge

 
You choose which tasks you'd like scouts to do. You set the minimum number required to complete the challenge. Scouts track their completions online.

These are some example tasks.
Advance 1 rank
Advance 2 ranks
Attend 5 separate unit campouts
Attend 7 separate unit campouts
Attend 9 separate unit campouts
Attend a high adventure trip lasting at least 5 nights
Attend at least 5 nights of summer camp
Attend church on Scout Sunday wearing your Scout uniform
Attend council or national youth leadership camp
Attend Troop Leader Training
Be crew leader for a high adventure
Become a member of Order of the Arrow or advance to Brotherhood
Clean 3 dutch ovens approved by QM or SM
Complete a Patrol Good Turn (at least 1/2 patrol)
Earn 1 Eagle Palm
Earn a Recruiter Strip
Earn an Interpreter Strip for any language
Earn Computers, Electricity, or Electronics merit badge
Earn Fishing or Flyfishing merit badge
Earn Home Repairs or Plumbing merit badge
Earn Music, Theater, or Art merit badge
Earn one of: 50-Miler, Paul Bunyan, Historic Trails, Outdoor Ethics awards
Earn one of: BSA Mile Swim, Kayaking, Boardsailing, SCUBA, Snorkeling patch
Earn Pioneering or Orienteering merit badge
Earn Safety, Traffic Safety, or Fire Safety merit badge
Earn Scholarship or Reading merit badge
Earn Totin' Chip, Fireman Chit, and Tech Chip
Earn Wilderness Survival, Backpacking, or Hiking merit badge
Earn Zero Hero award
Fulfill duties in a position of responsibility for 6 months
Go on 3 separate 10-mile scout hikes
Go on 3 separate 5-mile scout hikes
Go on 6 separate 10-mile scout hikes
Go on 6 separate 5-mile scout hikes
Go on 9 separate 10-mile scout hikes
Go on 9 separate 5-mile scout hikes
Join at least 1/2 your patrol on a Patrol Campout
Make your school's honor role for one term
Perform necessary first aid on another person
Prepare water filters for winter storage
Raise at least $500 in the unit fundraiser
Repair 3 pieces of gear chosen by QM or SM
Sleep outside in the snow on a troop campout
Teach children at your church for 8 Sundays.
Volunteer 10 hours, not used for other BSA requirements
Volunteer 30 hours, not used for other BSA requirements
Volunteer 50 hours, not used for other BSA requirements
